Hi, I’m Yung-Shiang Jasmine Yang. I’m a Research Associate (Postdoctoral Researcher) at the University of Galway and a PhD Candidate in Economics at University College Dublin.
My viva is scheduled for January 2027, and I’m on the 2026–2027 academic job market.
My research is in behavioural economics. I use experiments and theoretical models to study how people make decisions, both individually and collectively.
One part of my work looks at individual choices: for example, how motivation, algorithmic discrimination, ambiguity aversion, or rank information affects decisions.
I’m also interested in cooperation and collective decision-making. At Galway, I work on the LE CHÉILE (Local Examples of Cooperation and Harnessing Experimental Insights to Lower Emissions) project.
